Do you know that? Are you scrolling through your Instagram feed and are somehow dissatisfied with the overall impression? You post this, sometimes that, use the filter that you think is pretty right now but somehow does it look messy in the end? Consistent design in Instagram - no indication. Don't worry, not only well-known influencers, large agencies and creatives with seemingly endless time can produce a super uniform feed, but with a few tips and tricks you can do that too.

What do you want to use your Instagram feed for?

First, it’s important to think about how you want to use your account, which topics are important to you, and which target group you want to reach.

  • If you primarily want to generate customers and orders via Instagram, then your designs must be the main focus — just like a portfolio.
  • If you want to build a closer relationship with your subscribers, it’s also worth showing more of yourself as a person—who you are and what makes you stand out is just as important here as your designs.
  • Or do you want your fans to know how and why you show your brand and designs in a way and not otherwise, and want to use Instagram to have a lively exchange in a real community with your fans? — Then you’ll need a lot more work, time and a look behind your scenes, as your fans are much more involved in your creative everyday life here.

This decision gives you a rough structure and helps you reflect yourself. The most important thing is that your feed fits you and your personality and you don’t copy anyone else, otherwise you’ll lose your individuality and the fun of your Instagram feed. Your marketing needs you and not a copy cat.

Transferred to Instagram, this means the following:

  • The coloring of your feed
  • Graphical elements
  • Grids /layouts
  • Editing your photos
  • Arrangement of posts

We’ll show you which apps do this best.

CANVA

Use design grids for clarity in your photos and layouts. From the Beatles album cover A Hard Day’s Night to the great works of Piet Mondrian, grid-based designs with photo grids speak to our sense of structure and form. You too can experiment with photo grids by clicking on “Layout” and choosing one of our many grid layouts. Drag a design element into one of the open frames and you’re ready to go.

Build your Instagram project on photo grids. From simple designs with new frames to complex arrangements that are perfect for mood boards, design grids offer you room for visions and playful design. You have an incredible number of options!
